Manager sought to lead Growth Hub

Reporting to the Head of LLEP Business and Innovation you will be required to lead and deliver a high performing and effective Business Growth Hub support service to meet the needs of Leicester and Leicestershire businesses to help them grow. This will include the management and delivery of externally funded contracts such as European Regional Development Fund (EDRF) and Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in addition to working with multiple stakeholders to manage and monitor multiple contracts.

This is for one full-time, permanent position with interviews to commence following advertising completion w/c August 23rd August 2021.

Your role
Not only will you be responsible for inspiring an existing team by creating opportunities for creativity and innovation, you will communicate and champion the development of the Growth Hubs locally and nationally to increase their prominence.  Utilising your financial prowess, you will also manage financial and human resources to direct and develop them for efficient and effective delivery of the project’s objectives.

Whilst managing and forecasting project budgets and managing compliant funding claims, you will establish and manage a robust framework for inspection and performance monitoring, as well as proactively driving the communications and profile of the Growth Hub. By advising, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders, you will be able to influence the effective coordinated delivery of the business support landscape within Leicester and Leicestershire.

You will act as the lead for engagement with the LLEP’s accountable body to shape and design local services through influence of national programmes, to develop and implement project evaluation that demonstrates impact and drives the continued development and financial suitability of the Growth Hub.

What you’ll need
Essentially, you will have experience of working within a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment with a focus on delivery, have a proven track record of managing people and resources, as well as extensive experience in strategic planning, target setting, performance and evaluation.

Exposure to developing and/or managing business support or economic development programmes would be ideal to hit the ground running, as well as extensive exposure to the development and maintenance of partnerships at senior levels.

With relevant degree knowledge or equivalent experience in regeneration or economic development, you will be able to adapt to the client relationship management systems and accustomed databases, in addition to having adopted the ability in analysing complex scenarios, motivating others and having gauged excellent written and verbal communication skills.
