LSIP: Take part in the ongoing skills improvement plan

4 December 2023

Businesses are invited to be part of a new initiative which takes an innovative approach to bringing together businesses and education providers to ensure Leicester and Leicestershire can deliver the skills needed for now and the future.

Difficulties in recruiting is one of the top issues reported to East Midlands Chamber as being a potential barrier to success. Through giving businesses a stronger voice in local skills planning, the Leicester and Leicestershire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) is working to make skills provision more responsive to the needs of local businesses. Phase 1 of the project is already producing results, with our four local FE Colleges securing £3m in funding to deliver projects around decarbonising transportation, green leadership skills, digital upskilling and employer skills training – all based on real business needs.

As we move into Phase 2, businesses taking part will be asked to respond to a short daily question (received via the PanelMe app) over a fortnightly period each quarter – each day’s questioning is designed to take no longer than 2 minutes to complete. The first set of questions will kick off next month.

They would love your support as part of this work. Register your interest here: Insight Unlocked | Get Involved (insight-unlocked.co.uk).  Further information will follow to those registered in the coming days.
