Free tool to help build business resilience

12 January 2023

Leicestershire SME businesses now have access to a free resilience and growth tool from Loughborough University.

The Resilience and Growth Tool, RAG for short is being offered by the University’s Business and Economics School to local businesses providing free analysis and an objective perspective on the business and tailored advice for resilience and growth. The RAG Tool provides a chance to see how the business is performing across a wide range of areas.

The process begins with the completion of a series of online questions which will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The business will receive feedback through a four-page report and an optional follow-up meeting with one of the University’s team to discuss the findings in more depth. This process is completely free of charge.

The tool assesses the organisation across these core areas:

  • Business Characteristics
  • External Relations
  • Performance and Planning
  • Added Value
  • Knowledge and Resource Management

Should the business require, there is also the option for further investigations by Loughborough University, the LLEP or others to support business development. However, there is no obligation to do this.

Click this link to be taken to the diagnostic tool. Businesses are not required to provide any financial data, and the responses are saved as you go, so you can complete it over more than one sitting. All data collected will be confidential and held in accordance with the university’s data protection policies.
