Extension gives city SMEs a little longer to apply for growth grants or vouchers

7 June 2022

UPDATE: 21 JUNE – THIS GRANT IS NOW ALLOCATED AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

The application window for the UK Community Renewal Fund in Leicester has been extended to 30th June.

Businesses in Leicester are being urged to apply now for their share of UK Community Renewal Fund grants and growth vouchers.

Extra time has been made possible by the recent extension of the East Midlands Accelerator project. All funds must be committed by 30th June and fully claimed by mid-September.

Businesses are being invited to apply for grant funding of up to £8,000 (covering 80% of costs) to support their growth plans. This help can include, but is not limited to:

  • adopting digital solutions;
  • introducing carbon reduction solutions; and
  • providing a wage subsidy to support Kickstart or Graduate job retention.

Also available are growth vouchers of up to £2,000 (covering 100% of costs) for consultancy advice or specialist training.

As part of its application, a business must either safeguard or create a job and commit to creating/updating a sustainability plan for their business.

To register interest, business owners must complete the Expression of Interest form displayed on the East Midlands Accelerator page.

The East Midlands Accelerator project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
