East Midlands Accelerator to offer grants and support to Leicester City firms

11 March 2022

Small businesses in areas earmarked by Government for UK Community Renewal Fund (UKCRF) support are being encouraged to learn more about how they can take advantage of the support on offer. These areas are: Leicester City, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Mansfield, Bassetlaw, Newark & Sherwood and Nottingham City

East Midlands Chamber, leading the East Midlands Accelerator project which delivers UKCRF funding in our region, is hosting a virtual information session on Friday, 25 March 2022 so business owners can find out more about the support on offer. The session will be repeated on Monday, 28 March 2022.

Chamber Deputy Chief Executive Diane Beresford will cover:

  • how Accelerator support will aid recovery from the pandemic, support new entrepreneurship and growth sectors, and create and safeguard jobs;
  • the new flexible grants of £8,000 (80% intervention) that will fund business improvement and growth in areas such as digital adoption, carbon reduction, wage subsidies for Kickstart or Graduate retention, and specialist training and consultancy; and
  • the new £2,000 growth vouchers that will fund specialist consultancy advice or training services to support growth challenges, the introduction of technology or carbon reduction.

Grants and growth vouchers will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The project ends on 30 June 2022.

This project is part-funded by the UK Community Renewal Fund (UKCRF), which East Midlands Chamber is delivering, along with academic and other business support partners, under the East Midlands Accelerator project.
