£32,000 – £34,000 a year – Full-time, Contract fixed term until 31 December 2021, full time (35 hours per week) – Could be extended to June 2023 subject to funding.
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting businesses and the local economy to join our team of Leicestershire Growth Hub Business Advisers. Based in Leicester, this full-time position is focused on delivering no-cost and impartial advice to local businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire of any size with a particular focus on supporting them to grow and increase productivity.
East Midlands Chamber is a key delivery partner in the Leicestershire Growth Hub project, funded through the European Regional Development Fund and a range of public and private sector partners.
1. WHY THE POST EXISTS
We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced Business Adviser to join the Leicestershire Growth Hub team. You must have proven knowledge and experience of helping to drive performance improvement and growth within small to medium (SME) businesses. The role will also involve identifying and sourcing a range of public and private business support solutions to add value to the client.
You will be a self-motivated professional, a good team player with proven problem-solving skills and an ability to think innovatively. You will also have excellent communication, presentation and networking skills and an ability to work to deadlines and meet targets.
2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Directly deliver independent advice and practical support to new start and established businesses, including signposting to information, one-to-one meetings and one-to-many events, tailored to client needs.
Provide intensive one-to-one support to businesses with growth potential and receive referrals from a wide range of sources but principally via the Frontline Growth Hub Adviser team responding to leads and enquiries in a diligent and timely manner.
Carry out structured diagnostics with clients, agreeing an action plan, offering advice and/or brokering in support as appropriate.
3. IDEALLY YOU WILL POSSESS
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively through a variety of media.
Ability to adapt their approach to the needs and perspective of individual businesses.
Self-motivated, proactive independent worker capable of organising and prioritising individual workload and delivering to tight deadlines.
