The LBF is in its seventh year and is a staple in the local business community’s calendar. This year, there are around 90 events taking place over the fortnight, covering a wide range of topics from utilising Instagram for your business, sports entrepreneurship, sustainability and going net zero.
The events are run by local businesses to help local businesses. The aim of LBF is to share knowledge and best practice, as well as promoting growth and collaboration.
Headline partner, De Montfort University, is hosting a whopping 18 events, including:
- Leicester Graduate City: this is in collaboration with Leicester City Council and the University of Leicester, and will discuss developmental graduate internships for students, as well as how businesses can raise awareness of employment opportunities in the city for students.
- Going Net Zero: this event will help show businesses how to measure emissions and highlight key steps to reduce carbon emissions.
- Future-Proofing Leicester’s Fashion Industry: recent concerns that have been raised in the public media have damaged Leicester’s reputation and caused a loss of revenue for businesses. This event will reflect on these issues and identify actions that the industry can take to enhance the credibility of the sector.
- East Midlands Chamber is also running multiple events, one of which highlights the importance of digital workplace strategy and how to implement this will other business planning tools.
