SMART Grants and the Biomedical Catalyst funding competitions from Innovate UK
9 August 2022Innovate UK have two sets of grants available to support innovation among SMEs.
SMART Grants
Application deadline: 26 October 2022
Funding available: £100,000 – £2 million project costs; up to 70% funded.
Open to all industry sectors – projects must be game-changing, and world leading ideas, designed for swift, successful commercialisation. Ideas need to be genuinely new and novel, not just disruptive within their sector.
Projects must be led by SME if a single applicant or a UK business of any size if collaborative.
Biomedical Catalyst
Application deadline: 12 October 2022
Funding available: £100,000 – £4 million project costs, not exceeding £2 million grant request.
This funding is for UK SMEs to develop innovative solutions to address significant health or healthcare challenges.
Projects can align with one or more of the following Innovation areas: biosciences; advanced therapies (gene and cell therapies); diagnostic, medical technology and devices; digital health; independent living and wellbeing; precision medicine; preclinical technologies and drug target discovery; therapeutic and medicine development; data driven health.
Projects must be led by SME and can be collaborative.
