Initial line-up for business festival now live

25 August 2023

Due to popular demand; Leicester Business Festival organisers have published the first ten events already approved as part of the 80 event November programme.

Taking place from 6 to 17 November, festival events will be free to attend and aim to share knowledge and best practice, as well as promote growth and collaboration. Leicester Business Festival is completely B2B and operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

Richard Osborn, Regional director at Excello Law, Chair and director of the LBF Community Interest Company (CIC) said: “This year the interest in hosting an event has been incredible. It is brilliant that the business community has backed the festival by submitting their events earlier than usual.

“I am not at all surprised by the popularity of hosting an event as each year the festival is a firmly-established date in the diaries of many businesses.

“Hosting an event during the festival fortnight is a tried and tested way to get noticed, make connections, share expertise, and enhance business for our region.

“Thank you to those who are backing the festival already but remember there is still time for other businesses to submit their ideas as applications will close in September.”

Once events go live online people can book their space. The website is www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com and has everything about how to get involved.

Supporter of the festival University of Leicester (UoL), are hosting events at the festival, including:

Activating Inclusive Growth and Innovation | Money to Grow your Business | Routes to Funding. This event organised by UoL in partnership with NatWest and Leicester Startups will provide businesses and growth start-ups access to information directly from providers and hear how they can support and help.

Professor Dan Ladley, Dean – University Leicester School of Business and LBF supporter said: “Business is an ever-changing landscape from understanding funding routes to navigating constantly changing economic challenges. Collaborating with partners, NatWest and Leicester StartUps, provides the opportunity to showcase first-hand how business owners have progressed their routes to market, accessed finance and increased their growth and profit.

“Although November feels like a long time away, now really is the time to get the organised and apply for a slot. The benefits of being a part of LBF are huge and a critical part of keeping the region in the spotlight as the place to invest and do business.”

Other events that have now gone live include wellbeing essentials, a masterclass introduction to Export Controls and Sanctions and strategic business tactics.

As well as events there are still also opportunities to partner with the festival; more information is available on the website. So far, the festival is being supported by De Montfort University (partner), Pattersons Commercial Law (partner), University of Leicester, Everards of Leicestershire, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, Leicester Hospitals Charity and TheMusicLicence, by PPL PRS Ltd (music partner).
