Manufacturers across Leicestershire can find out about opportunities to collaborate together at a Leicester Business Festival event hosted by East Midlands Chamber.
The Chamber is inviting business leaders to find out more about the Leicestershire Manufacturing Network at an online event on Thursday 10 November 2022.
Forming part of the umbrella East Midlands Manufacturing Network, it acts as a peer-to-peer network for manufacturing firms to work together on addressing common issues and gain intel about areas including production, finances, regulations and compliance, digitisation and skills.
According to Make UK’s Regional Manufacturing Outlook 2022 report, there are 258,000 manufacturing jobs in the East Midlands – equivalent to 11% of the region’s workforce, accounting for the industry’s highest proportion across all UK regions.
Business owners, directors and leaders who take a strategic overall responsibility to grow the business of manufacturers, of any size, in Leicester and Leicestershire are invited to get involved in the Leicestershire Manufacturing Network.
The support offered by the business-led network includes giving a better understanding the financial assistance on offer, identifying collaboration opportunities, encouraging best practice, tapping into specialist consultancy and advice on regulation and compliance, and promoting growth in the industry.
As the largest business representation organisation in the region, East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) is the leading voice for business in the East Midlands. It was recently named the UK Chamber of the Year by the British Chambers of Commerce, which includes 53 accredited chambers within its network. The Chamber is a partner of the festival and, each year offers events for local businesses to get involved with.
Diane Beresford, deputy chief executive at East Midlands Chamber, said: “The East Midlands is a region with a strong manufacturing heritage and the potential to have an equally strong future. Our East Midlands Manufacturing Network, and the local networks that feed into it, have a key role to play in securing the industry’s future success in our region by bringing together the huge fountain of knowledge and skills existing here within a dedicated, supportive peer network.
