The Elite Labels Global Group manufacture and supply a broad spectrum of clothing labels, retail and e-tail packaging and garment embellishments from both the UK and strategic global sites to support their client requirements. The Leicester-based business has been supported by the Leicester Employment Hub and Business Gateway Adviser, Altaf Ahmed.
Elite Labels have production facilities across the world including the USA, Canada, Europe, India and Hong Kong. Their clients include prestigious names in fashion and much-loved high-street retailers such as Urban Outfitters, Primark, Marks and Spencers, BooHoo and Hugo Boss to name a few.
When it comes to their sustainable range this includes 100% recycled polyester yarns: wraps and weft. The recycled polyester comes from plastic bottles. The plastic is regenerated through a non-chemical, but mechanical process. The dying of the warps and wefts is eco-friendly too, conserving water and energy.
Shafique Hussein, Director said: “We continue to drive and focus on the development of recycled and sustainable products in many areas. We are working on a move towards fully recycled materials to produce international wash care labels. The base yarn is developed using by-products of plastic bottles and converted into yarn, we now have over 20 different types of fully recycled materials that can be used in the production of wash care labels.”
Employment Hub Representative, Alpa Chauhan* commented: ” In recent years there have been a lot of challenges towards sustainable production and consumption within the garment industry. Therefore, it’s so great to see such a forward-thinking company leading the way based in Leicester. They offer a wide range of ethical and sustainable products for labels and packaging to their customers and supply chain. They have also set up an online ordering portal to assist suppliers with the ordering of eco-friendly, ethically sourced, and sustainable products.’’
“We are delighted to work with Elite Labels to explore the potential of taking on apprentices within the various departments of Rotary, Weaving and Digital Labelling.”
