BLOG: RBC Brewin Dolphin: ‘We recognise that innovation drives progress’
7 February 2024RBC Brewin Dolphin has been serving clients for more than 250 years, guiding their growth through all market cycles.
The wealth management and financial planning firm’s history shows the importance of maintaining a long-term perspective and seeing beyond short-term fluctuations.
Its experienced teams are focused on building individual relationships that endure through good times and bad, in a world that remains unpredictable.
Scott Charlish, Divisional Director of Financial Planning told Innovative Leicestershire why the firm is sponsoring Leicestershire Innovation Festival 2024.
Why is innovation important to your organisation?
We recognise that innovation drives progress. It’s what leads us to adapt to the ever-changing market landscape and meet the evolving needs of our clients.
We use innovative technology to support our business and most importantly the needs of our clients. Sometimes this is via apps and websites but also in our face-to-face meetings where we advise on a client’s total wealth.
As an organisation monitoring markets, staying closely abreast of change is not just important, it’s imperative.
It’s why our commitment to innovation exists in the way we think, the way we work, and, ultimately, the way we deliver value to our clients.
We live in an increasingly complex world in which economic environments shift, frameworks evolve, and our clients’ personal circumstances change.
Our willingness and ability to innovate ensures that we’re not just keeping pace with these developments – we are anticipating them and providing proactive, creative solutions.
How does your organisation encourage innovation?
We are proven experts in helping innovative business owners realise their ambitions
This positions us as a supportive partner for clients who are themselves motivated and driven by innovation.
Innovation creates wealth and opportunity for everyone, from the income gained by entrepreneurs to the jobs they create and the workplaces they build.
That’s why we advise Entrepreneurs to help to bring their concepts from the drawing board to reality and to support them by providing peace of mind.
The theme of the sixth annual festival is ‘Small Change, Big Impact’ – can you provide any examples from your organisation?
We recognised that there is often a gap between exciting entrepreneurs in the East Midlands and the financial support they need to enable growth.
We wanted to create a simple forum for bringing the two sides together in an informal setting so that they could exchange ideas and build networks.
The result was the first RBC Brewin Dolphin Entrepreneur’s Dinner in the East Midlands. Organised with the support of Leicester Startups in 2023, it was a great success.
Six months later, and on the eve of the Leicestershire Innovation Festival, we hosted a second dinner, this time in Nottingham. Again, our feedback was highly positive as more new contacts were made between entrepreneurs running a host of different-sized businesses and the investors who are looking for opportunities to back them.
It’s a simple format, but we are now planning further events and I would encourage anyone interested in participating to contact me through the RBC Brewin Dolphin offices in Nottingham.
