Leicester based charity Giving World has been on a mission since 2001, to provide life essentials—like clothing, toiletries and household items to people living in poverty – excess stock from businesses.
Shamefully one in every third child in the UK lives below the poverty threshold. That’s 10 in every average classroom.
Giving World helps those families by redistributing surplus goods from businesses to those who need them most, preventing waste, saving and restoring dignity, while stretching incomes.
We bring together people who need these products with the businesses who are sending unwanted products to landfill. Our simple, common sense solution to fight poverty and reduce landfill helps to solve two of the most pressing problems in the UK today.
Businesses benefit by reducing the amount of surplus stock they send to landfill as well as any costs they may incur for storage.
Surplus and excess items often include those which:
– Are created as a result of cancelled orders/contracts where the cost of re-working is uneconomical.
– Unwanted promotional/sample items
– Items made as part of the manufacturing process which would otherwise be disposed of, but which can be bagged and donated loose.
If you have any product surplus to donate, please email info@givingworld.org.uk
Each year we help over 600,000 vulnerable children and their families with warm winter clothes, shampoo, bedding and much more.
Behind each number is a real person: a mum trying to keep her baby clean; a dad struggling to afford school uniforms; a child who feels seen, maybe for the first time.
Please donate your surplus stock today at www.givingworld.org.uk.
Together we can make sure that no child goes without the essentials they need.
