Regional Skills Bootcamps Employer consultation now open

16 September 2024

Do you have skills or recruitment gaps?

The Skills Bootcamps programme is a crucial way to support Leicester and Leicestershire’s employers, economy, and labour market, offering flexible, free, or low-cost short, flexible courses in the skills employers need, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track career progression.

Leicester City Council, working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council and the Leicester and Leicestershire Business and Skills Partnership have secured funding for Regional Skills Bootcamps in 2025 and we are keen to consult with you to see which areas of Skills Bootcamps would most benefit your business.

Could you spare 5 minutes to tell us about your skills needs and what bootcamps/skills support you would like to see locally that will help your business to grow? Please click here to take the survey:

Results from the consultation will be used to inform where future regional Skills Bootcamps funding is focussed. The consultation closes on October 31st 2024.

Last year saw three successful area Skills Bootcamps pilots in construction, cyber security and digital marketing, but we are keen for many more sectors to benefit – please do take part in the survey!

Skills Bootcamps have been developed as part of a £3bn Government initiative designed to close the skills gap in the UK that has been intensified by the disruption that coronavirus caused to job sectors and businesses.
