New Funding Opportunities to Improve Animal Health and Welfare for Farmers

26 June 2025

The UK government is offering new grants and funding support to help farmers improve animal health and welfare. This initiative, part of the Animal Health and Welfare Pathway, provides financial backing for vet-led farm health visits and disease prevention measures.

Farmers can now apply for funding that covers up to three reviews to assess livestock and up to three follow up reviews. These visits aim to tackle endemic diseases early, improving productivity and reducing long-term costs.

This funding is especially valuable for small and medium-sized farms, helping them access expert advice, prevent disease outbreaks, and enhance animal welfare standards.

Key Benefits:

  • Funded annual vet visits
  • Tailored advice to prevent disease
  • Long-term cost savings through better animal health
