Help Shape a Healthier, More Inclusive Workplace – Share Your Insights Today

15 May 2025

As a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME), your experience is vital to improving how we support employees with health conditions and disabilities in the workplace.

The Keep Britain Working Review, led by Sir Charlie Mayfield for the UK Government, is currently collecting evidence through a short survey to understand what workplace interventions are most effective in helping employees to:

  • Prevent health issues from developing or worsening at work
  • Retain employees with health conditions and disabled employees who face barriers to work, preventing them from transitioning to sickness absence
  • Rehabilitate employees who have gone on sickness absence, enabling a successful return to work

After conducting an initial discovery into the underlying issues, Sir Charlie published his early findings on 20 March, which set out the key areas he would like to explore in the next phase of the review. Your contribution now will help shape these next steps.

They are especially keen to hear about your experience supporting:

  • Young employees (16–34) with mental health challenges
  • Mid-career staff (35–49) with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions
  • Older employees (50+) nearing retirement
  • Disabled employees of all ages

Why it matters:

SMEs play a unique and influential role in keeping people in work and thriving. By sharing practical insights or successful examples—even small steps that made a big difference—you’ll help shape national policy and improve outcomes for millions.

The deadline to contribute is Friday 30 May 2025 at midnight.
