Event Details

At its core, ESG social is about human rights and equity – an organisation’s relationships with people, as well as its policies and actions. The focus on carbon and net zero has diverted the agenda from Human Rights.

The UK Equality Act 2010. The UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

The recently announced Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

An estimated 70% of applicable UK Companies fail to comply with the Modern Slavery Act. How can you improve and demonstrate compliance? Furthermore, if you cannot demonstrate compliance training on issues such as equal opportunities, anti-bullying etc. legislation being introduced will automatically increase the penalties by 25%.

However, it is not all about compliance. The benefits of clear policies, processes and employee training are improved recruitment and increased retention.

This webinar is delivered by James Butcher, a Nottingham-based supplier engagement and sustainable transformation expert, and delivered on MS Teams, the session will include:

* The scope of ‘E’ in ESG and key areas of compliance
* Key statistics on the benefit of diversity in the workplace
* The risks of unconscious bias
* The risks of failing to train – for example, new legislation this autumn mean an automatic increase in compensation (e.g. at tribunal) if training isn’t in place
* How training / team development aid recruitment and retention (and demonstrates core value)
* Key training topics to embed Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) that also aid recruitment and retention
* The benefit of your own LMS (for tracking personal development and training compliance records)

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) in partnership with East Midlands Chamber.
