The free online session will provide businesses with an introduction to carbon foot printing, starting with an explanation of the key concepts before progressing onto the reasons why businesses should produce a footprint in 2024.

The session will also provide delegates with an opportunity to ask questions on the day, these will be answered throughout the webinar at an appropriate time.

This webinar is delivered by Loreus Ltd, a ‘spin-off’ company originally based at Nottingham Trent University. Loreus was founded by two leading environmental experts at the University and has grown to be an international, quality provider of environmental support.

The presentation will also provide attendees with a guided approach to produce their own basic footprint quickly and easily. Finally there will be a discussion on some of the things that an organisation can do with the accrued data, including ways of making financial savings.

The session will be led by Khaled Belgasmi, Consultant at Loreus, covering the follow topic areas:

* What is a carbon footprint
* Why do a carbon footprint? (business drivers)
* How to do a carbon footprint
* Ideas for ways to reduce your footprint & associated costs
* Accreditation & certification of your footprint
* Next steps, building on the basics

Workshops are open to start-up and established small to medium sized enterprises located in the following local authority areas taking part in the East Midlands Chamber’s Accelerator project:
Amber Valley; Ashfield; Bassetlaw; Broxtowe; Chesterfield; Derby; Derbyshire Dales; Erewash; Gedling; High Peak; Leicester City; Mansfield; Newark & Sherwood; North East Derbyshire; Nottingham; Rushcliffe; South Derbyshire.

(Please note: Businesses based in districts not participating in the Accelerator project (i.e. Bolsover; Leicestershire) may attend providing they are members of East Midlands Chamber. In such instances, please contact Emily Gascoyne on 07741904395 who will approve your booking.)

The Accelerator project delivers online webinars and full-day workshops. The webinars are designed as one-hour taster sessions and the workshops as full-day training sessions which are designed to provide delegates with an actionable plan and strategy.
