Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) are multi-agency partnerships made up of representatives from local public services, including the emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others. LRFs aim to plan and prepare for localised incidents and catastrophic emergencies. They work to identify potential risks and produce emergency plans to either prevent or mitigate the impact of any incident on their local communities.
2024 has been the year that Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland LRF have been fortunate enough to have been selected to be part of a Government funded innovation project, alongside several LRFs across the country. The aim of the project is to look at how LRFs could better support and engage with business networks/groups over the whole area they cover to improve both business and community resilience.
The first round of this project involves asking local business networks to take part in this survey which is hosted by our research partner for the project – Business in The Community. This survey is designed for responses from representatives of any business and enterprise networks – including business clubs, local trader groups, business membership organisations, leadership teams and social enterprise networks.
The aim of the survey is to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences and insight local business networks and businesses have in relation to emergency incident planning and response, local risks and the types of emergencies that you see as a concern. This could be anything like flooding, power outages, terrorist activities, major fires, or health pandemics.
