British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme

9 August 2024

The British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme announced it has passed a major milestone of £150 million worth of loans delivered in the Midlands region. Over 6,000 loans to entrepreneurs within the East Midlands have been provided.

A Start Up Loan is a government-backed personal loan available to individuals looking to start or grow their  UK business.

Loans are unsecured, so no assets or guarantors to support an application need be put forward.

In addition to finance, your business gains the following benefits if successful in obtaining a start up loan.

These include:

* 12 months of free mentoring and exclusive business offers to help successful delivery.
* Free templates & guides.
* All owners or partners in a business can individually apply for up to £25,000 each, with a maximum of £100,000 available per business.
