Boost Productivity and Reduce Sickness Absence with Free SME Health Training

24 February 2026

Small and medium-sized enterprises across England are being offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen their workforce with free, Government-funded occupational health training for line managers. Announced on GOV.UK, this new initiative will train up to 5,000 SME managers by 31 March, equipping them with practical skills to spot early signs of health-related issues and take timely, supportive action.

Line managers will learn how to recognise indicators such as fatigue, behavioural changes, and rising absence levels — enabling earlier conversations and better support for staff. By addressing issues before they escalate, businesses can reduce costly sickness absence, improve productivity, and retain experienced employees.

With workplace wellbeing increasingly linked to performance and resilience, this fully funded training provides SMEs with an accessible way to build healthier, more confident teams at no cost.

Places are limited, so employers are encouraged to secure their spot as soon as possible via the official booking page: keepbritainworking.internationalworkplace.com
