At today’s government briefing, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has announced that all non-essential retailers will be able to reopen in England from 15 June, as part of plans to further ease the lockdown.
However, retailers will have to adhere to new guidelines that have been published for the retail sector to protect workers and customers. The guidance includes requirements for social distancing and hygiene standards.
Outdoor markets and car showrooms will be able to reopen from 1 June.
The move is considered a critical step to rebuild the economy and support millions of jobs across the UK.
