New Online Magazine examining Britain’s Regional Performance
If you are interested in how your region is performing statistically versus other UK regions that you can browse www.thestateofbritain.co.uk/stats to find out.
The State of Britain is a subscription free monthly online magazine that critically explores how the major economic issues facing the UK impacts on the State; the devolved nations, regions and UK dependencies. Our aim is to compare UK regional statistics and demystify how economics and regional policy impacts every area in Britain. We examine key regional metrics such as income (GVA), productivity, labour markets and housing and evaluate government intervention – either directly or indirectly via agencies – at a national and local level. The magazine also analyses how the UK is performing internationally with reference to facts not forecasts or spin.
The magazine has a dedicated regional page and stats for each of the following ‘regions’ – North West, North East, East Midlands, East of England, West Midlands, London, South East, South West, Yorkshire and Humberside, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands/Isle of Man/Gibraltar and UK.
Contributors are current or former journalists, Bank of England officials, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills officials, tax advisers, fund managers, lawyers, accountants and business leaders.
