Event Details

Many creative businesses and individuals want to start selling online but don’t know where to start or how to choose between the bewildering array of options. This webinar will explain everything that’s involved in online selling and make recommendations for products and services that can make it easier for you to create and maintain an online shop.  This is particularly useful if you sell customised, personalised, made-to-order or one-off products like prints, jewellery and so on.

This workshop is the first part of a four-workshop series and we strongly recommend that you sign up for all four sessions.

Key topics:

  • A comparison of online shop platforms – pros and cons
  • e-commerce versus marketplaces – or should you do both?
  • Site assets you will need – images, product descriptions and more
  • Usability and User Experience
  • Site search

What you will you take away:

You will leave with an understanding of how to set up an online shop to sell your goods and a sense of what a good online shop should look like.

About the speaker:

Expert David James Ross teaches this course based on his own experiences of setting up online shops and getting businesses to increase online sales. David has taught many courses with creative businesses who have improved their online sales significantly.  Here are some comments from other businesses who’ve attended the course:

The facilitator is very knowledgeable about the subject. The informal nature of the workshop helped me get the most from it (publishing company)

Helped me to sell more products online (fashion brand)

Increased the number of online customers that I get to my website (jewellery maker)

Who should attend:

This workshop is aimed at you if you have a creative business that has been trading for around 12 months with products and/or services ready for sale. You should attend if you want to set up an online shop or improve the one that you currently have.

This webinar is delivered by the Business Gateway Growth Hub and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Places are limited and priority will be given to trading SMEs based in Leicester and Leicestershire
