Event Details

Around a third of all UK businesses report having a cyber security breach or attack in the last 12 months, costing SME’s on average £4,180 per year. The real crime is now online.

Cybercrime has replaced traditional methods of robbery, fraud & theft. You could say it’s robbery on the virtual high street. All anyone needs to start targeting an individual or company is a mobile phone, internet connection and laptop. These devices now form part of our everyday lives. Cybercrime is the boom industry – it’s where the money is at! Attacks are getting more severe as more data is being exposed. More funds are being exposed in single attacks and more services are being damaged.

We will be joined by our designated Fraud Awareness Analyst, Teejay Nichols, along with Samantha Hancock, Cyber Protect Officer for Leicestershire Police. Delivering cyber and digital protective advice relating to online safety, digital culture, ransomware and social engineering. Jonathan Wooton-Business Development Executive for Clear insurance management will also be showing us how systems could potentially be venerable by taking us through a live hack!!
